Dr. Allan S. Gilles Jr. is a Filipino freshwater ecologist and academic with a PhD in Biology (cum laude) from the University of Santo Tomas. His research expertise centers on freshwater fish ecology, invasive species risk assessment, and biodiversity conservation in aquatic systems. He has authored multiple international, peer-reviewed publications and has served as a consultant and speaker in both national and international forums. Dr. Gilles is also actively involved in science policy translation, particularly around aquatic biosecurity and sustainability.
