GARCIA, Maria Victoria D.

Associate Professor Maria Victoria Decipeda Garcia, MD, FPCP, FPCC, FPSE, holds the academic position of Associate Professor 2 in the Department of Medicine at the UST Faculty of Medicine & Surgery. Dr. Garcia is a distinguished Chief of the Section of Cardiology at UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, showcasing leadership in her field. Her scholarly and research interests span Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Medical Education. She obtained her clinical fellowship in Echocardiography from UST Hospital in 2000, followed by a fellowship in Adult Cardiology from 1997 to 1999. Dr. Garcia’s educational journey includes a Doctor of Medicine degree from St. Louis University, Baguio City, where she achieved the 4th rank. As an accomplished professional, she has earned recognition, including the 1994 Outstanding Research Paper award at the 24th Annual PCP Convention. Dr. Garcia has also served in various capacities, such as President of the Philippine College of Physicians Marikina Chapter, showcasing her commitment to professional and academic growth. Her affiliations include being a Diplomate and Fellow of the Philippine College of Physicians, Diplomate and Fellow of the Philippine College of Cardiology, and a Member and Fellow of the Philippine Society of Echocardiography. Dr. Garcia actively contributes as an affiliate to hospitals such as UST Hospital, Metro Antipolo Medical Center, St. Victoria Hospital, Marikina St. Vincent General Hospital, and St. Anthony Medical Center.
