GARA, Ariane Joyce V.

Engr. Ariane Joyce V. Gara graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in 2015 and is a Registered Electrical Engineer. She earned her Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), Taiwan, in 2025, specializing in state estimation for power systems using various machine learning models. She also obtained her Master of Management in Educational Management from Philippine Christian University in 2024.

During her stay in Taiwan, she served as Vice President of the National Board of Directors of the Association of Filipino Scholars in Taiwan (AFST) and Secretary of the AFST–CYCU Chapter, where she helped organize scholarly events and academic exchanges.

Engr. Gara began her academic career in 2015 as a full-time faculty member at Colegio de San Juan de Letran–Manila, where she was part of the pioneer faculty for the Electrical Engineering program. She joined the UST Electrical Engineering Department in 2015 as a part-time faculty member and transitioned to a full-time position in 2021.

At present, she serves as the Coordinator for Engineering International Relations and Programs (EIRP) in the Faculty of Engineering and as the Electrical Engineering Department’s representative to the Top Thomasian Engineering News (Top-TEN) Committee. She also served as the department’s representative to the Graduation Committee during Academic Years 2021–2023.

Her research interests include artificial intelligence applications in power systems, microgrids, state estimation, and the integration of educational technology in engineering education.
