Pharmacy, Mercury Drug intensify collaborations with TelePharmD, Pharmacy practicum

On March 4, 2022, the Faculty of Pharmacy inked a Memorandum of Agreement with Mercury Drug Corporation for the latter to host the University’s Doctor of Pharmacy students for their Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience program, with the intent of allowing the students to undergo an “experiential learning program” with the help of Mercury Drug Corporation.

Mercury Drug Corporation will provide UST’s PharmD students with pharmaceutical care/drugstore management training that will last for 240 credit hours. Part of the training is the conduct of webinars and a heavy exposure to telepharmacy, which “aims to provide drug information and counseling in response to patient drug inquiries.”

The agreement was signed by UST Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Cheryl R. Peralta, DrPH and Mercury Drug Corporation’s HR Supervisor Erica Isis M. Salvatierra and HR Manager Dulce D. Martinez. Named as witnesses in the Memorandum of Agreement are Faculty of Pharmacy Dean Aleth Therese L. Dacanay, PhD and Mercury Drug Corporation’s Corporate Pharmacy Affairs Group Director Cristina D. Vetus.
