The Office of the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, in collaboration with the Center for Innovative Teaching and Educational Delivery, held the inaugural GRACE Session on May 28, 2025, at the Dr. Lourdes J. Custodio Multi-Function Room, Albertus Magnus Building. GRACE Sessions are biannual capacity-building activities that seek to offer ongoing guidance and opportunities for growth in key areas that matter most to academic staff approaching the age of retirement (64-65 years old) as they prepare to navigate a new chapter in their life.
The May 28, 2025, learning session highlighted Physical, Cognitive, Social, Psychological, and Financial domains of wellness. The following are the session objectives:
-Discover strategies for maintaining physical wellness and mindfulness.
-Explore avenues for maintaining meaningful social connections and bonds.
-Explore strategies to effectively manage finances and investments.
Prof. Cheryl R. Peralta, DrPH, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, gave the Welcome Remarks.
Rev. fr. Pablo T. Tiong, O.P., gave an Inspirational Message to the retirees.

Prof. Eva Irene Y. Maglonzo, MD, Pedagogical Lead of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, focused on Physical and Cognitive Wellness in her lecture titled, “Navigating Retirement: Physical and Cognitive Wellness”.

Prof. Ryan Francis O. Cayubit, PhD, Assistant Director, Office for Admissions, focused on Social and Psychological Wellness in his lecture titled, “Retirement and Mental Health: Social and Psychological Wellness”.

Asst. Prof. Charmina Lou C. Bautista, MES, PIE, Academic Staff from the Faculty of Engineering, focused on Financial Wellness in her lecture titled, “Moving Forward with Grace: Financial Stability and Legacy”.
