New central laboratory blessed

Last April 24, 2017, Father Rector Very Rev. Fr. Herminio Dagohoy, OP, led the blessing rites of the Central Laboratory Building, which will be the new house of the laboratory skills facilities of the Faculty of Pharmacy, College of Science, and the College of Rehabilitation Sciences, along with the Laboratory Equipment and Supplies Office (LESO).

The first six floors contain laboratories of the different colleges and faculties.

On the first floor, the College of Rehabilitation Sciences has its Speech-Language Pathology, Anatomy, and Research Laboratories.

From the second to fourth floors, the Faculty of Pharmacy has its laboratories for Medical Technology, Physiology and Anatomy, Serology & Immunology, Blood Banking, Hematology, Biochemistry, Manufacturing and Dosage Forms, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Physiology Pharmacy, as well as thesis rooms.

From the fifth to seventh floors, the College of Science has its laboratories for Physics, Electronics and Instrumentation, Biotechniques and Ecology, Physiology, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry, Psychological Assessment, and Experimental Psychology, as well as laboratories for the different students.

Also on the seventh floor, the newly established Research Center for Culture, Arts, and Humanities will be located, sharing the floor with the extension office of the Research Center for the Natural and Applied Sciences. The top floor will house the LESO and an auditorium.

The blessing rites was attended by administrators, faculty members, and Dominican Priests.
