Five academic staff of the Department of Biological Sciences have been elected as officers and board members of the Mycological Society of the Philippines for Fiscal Year 2025-2026.
Inst. Jeane Aril dela Cruz, MSc was elected Vice-President, while Asst. Prof. Enrico M. Cabutaje, PhD joins the officers as Public Relations Offices. Meanwhile, joining the Board of Trustees are Prof. Thomas Edison E. dela Cruz, Dr. rer. Nat., Asst. Prof. Sittie Aisha B. Macabago, PhD, and Asst. Prof. Jaycee Augusto G. Paguirigan, PhD.
The Mycological Society of the Philippines was established in 1999. Mycology is the field that studies fungi, including yeasts, molds, and mushrooms. Among the major branches are plant pathology, field mycology, and applied mycology.
