Matienzo of Philo, CRSE talks in Romania conferences, radio show

Dr. Rhochie Avelino Matienzo of the Center for Religious Studies and Ethics traveled to Romania last June 2016 to be a Plenary Speaker during the Inter-religious and Inter-cultural Dialogue in a Pluralistic World: Philosophical and Theological Perspectives held at Constanta, Romania on June 2-3, 2016.

Matienzo spoke about “The Quiapo Leap: A Philosophical Reading of the Religious Experience of the Black Nazarene Popular Devotion in Quiapo, Manila, Philippines.” He proceeded the next day to Gura Humorului, Romania where he presented a paper on “The Religious Experience of Hermano Puli’s Confradia and the Seeding of Philippine Spanish Revolution: A Kierkegaardian Reading of Reynaldo Ileto’s Pasyon and Revolution” during the International Seminar on Knowledge and Spirituality: Rethinking Man in the Horizon of Contemporary Challenges.

Matienzo was also a resource person in a radio interview on the topic “Dialog pe ruta Filipine–Constanța–Vatra Dornei–Iaşi” (Dialogue en route from the Philippines to Constanta, to Vatra Dornei to Iaşi) hosted by Ms. Bianca Iona. The station is broadcasting in the Moldavia region of Romania and parts of Ukraine.
