Manalad of Architecture is new Chairman of ARCASIA Committee of Architecture Education

Ar. Jonathan Manalad, an Assistant Professor from the College of Architecture, has been elected as the Chairman of the ARCASIA Committee of Architecture Education (ACAE) for the years 2024 and 2025. To mark the beginning of his term, a formal turnover ceremony was held on January 20, 2024 at the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) Center. The ceremony symbolized the transfer of responsibilities and the start of Manalad’s leadership in the ACAE.

Under his guidance, the ACAE aims to enhance architecture education in Asia by collaborating with the architectural institutes of the 21-member countries in the region. With a focus on inclusive design and the importance of architectural research in support of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, Manalad plans to craft programs that will contribute to the advancement of architecture education in Asia.

The ARCASIA Committee of Architecture Education (ACAE) plays a crucial role in promoting and reinforcing the architecture curriculum in the region. It serves as a platform for sharing knowledge, best practices, and fostering collaboration among architectural professionals and educators.
