Lopez of IPEA is elected IOHSK Special Interest Group Chair

Mr. Michael David Tan Lopez of the Institute of Physical Education and Athletics (IPEA) was unanimously elected Chair of the Special Interest Group (SIG) of the International Organization of Health, Sports and Kinesiology (IOHSK). His term of office is from 2021 to 2022. His new post was announced through a Zoom meeting of IOHSK on June 25, 2021.

The IOHSK is an international, non-governmental, non-profit, and professional organization that promotes high quality research worldwide in the areas of health, sports, and Kinesiology. IOHSK is multilingual, multiethnic, multicultural, and comprises universities, colleges, institutions, and individual members from across the globe. Its SIG is tasked with initiating international collaborations via MOUs between the members and the institutions that they represent; establishing international collaborations with the IOHSK itself; and collaborating in various international projects.

Lopez has been an instructor with the IPEA since 2017. He handles courses such as Ergogenics and Healthy Eating in Sports, Exercise 1 and 2, Principles of Motor Control, Sports and Exercise Psychology, Anatomy of Human Movement, and Performance 1 and 2. He holds a Master of Science degree in Human Movement Sciences, major in Leisure Studies, from the UP College of Human Kinetics. He is a registered psychometrician and is currently taking up his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the De La Salle University.
