The presence of international students, academic staff, and collaborations was touted as UST’s greatest strength as it made its debut in the Times Higher Education Asia Rankings, where it was ranked in the 601+ bracket. This position made it rank #3 among Philippine universities.
International outlook, which accounted for 7.5% of the total score, includes proportion of international students, proportion of international staff, and international collaboration. With a score of 67, this was UST’s strongest suit, followed by Teaching and Research Quality.
Teaching includes indicators such as teaching reputation, staff-to-student ratio, and doctorate-to-bachelor’s ratio, among others. Meanwhile, Research Quality credits citation impact, research strength, research excellence, and research influence.
