Fr. Rolando M. Castro, O.P. elected Prior of the Priory of St. Thomas Aquinas

In a simple yet solemn installation ceremony, Fr. Rolando M. Castro, O.P. was formally inaugurated as the Prior of the Priory of St. Thomas Aquinas, based in the University of Santo Tomas. The installation ceremony, presided over by the Very Rev. Fr. Gerard Francisco P. Timoner III, O.P., was held last May 24, 2015 (Sunday), at the 3/F Chapel of the Fathers’ Residence.

Fr. Castro, formerly the Sub-Prior, succeeds Fr. Rodel Aligan, O.P., and will serve a three-year term.

According to the Book of Constitutions and Ordinations of the Order of Preachers, a conventual prior “ought to be prudent, charitable, and zealous for regular observance and the apostolate.” This is the third time Fr. Castro will serve as prior of a convent, as he was previously elected Prior of Sto. Domingo and of St. Albert the Great, in Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Calamba.
