Last January 25-26, 2017,Rev. Fr. Julius Paul Factora, OP, J.C.D., Regent of the College of Nursing and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Canon Law delivered a lecture for the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines.
The lecture was entitled, “Innovations of Mitis Iudex Dominus Iesus 2015 as compared with Code of Canon Law 1983.” The lecture revolved around the new canons for the process of marriage nullity cases as contained in the document Mitis Iudex.
The lecture explored the canonical reasons behind the introduction of the changes and the new canonical provisions vis-à-vis the reasons behind the abrogated/derogated canonical provisions of the 1983 Code of Canon Law.
