During the 10th Tourism and Hospitality Education – International Centre of Excellence (THE-ICE) International Panel of Experts Forum last November 11, 2016, the UST Rector, the Very Rev. Fr. Herminio V. Dagohoy, O.P., PhD, received the prestigious Fellow of THE-ICE Award for his “outstanding academic contribution to the TH&E Education, training and research” at the Cesar Ritz Colleges, Lucerne, Switzerland.
On Fr. Dagohoy’s behalf, the Dean of the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Asst. Prof. Maria Cecilia Tio Cuison, MA, received the award and delivered the letter of acknowledgement.
Under Fr. Dagohoy’s term, the BS Travel Management and BS Hospitality management programs earned the Commission on Higher Education’s recognition as Centers of Excellence, as well as the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation Level III, and the international THE-ICE full accreditation Plus status, making CTHM a paragon of excellence in tourism and hospitality education.
With the theme “Excellence-Defined and Measured”, numerous scholars and administrators from top Tourism and Hospitality Management schools in Europe, Australia, United States of America, and Asia attended the international conference.
