Fr. Dagohoy elected Vice-President of International Federation of Catholic Universities

University of Santo Tomas Rector Fr. Herminio V. Dagohoy, O.P., PhD is one of the three new Vice-President of the International Federation of Catholic Universities, following the gathering held in St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth, Ireland late July 2018.

Fr. Dagohoy, formerly the Director for Asia-Pacific, will serve in the post until 2021. UST recently hosted the IFCU Board of Administration, in March 2018.

IFCU, with its headquarters based in France, has flagship programs in research, particularly those concerning international issues that are common to member-universities, such as higher education issues, youth studies, ideologies vis-a-vis states, and political science, among others. The federation aims for knowledge, skill, and expertise sharing among members and pushes universities to reflect on their Catholic orientation in light of modern-day challenges.

Apart from IFCU, Fr. Dagohoy is also the Executive Secretary (President) of the Association of Southeast and East Asian Catholic Colleges and Universities (ASEACCU).
