Fr. Abaño of Museum, Civil Law is re-elected to ICOM-PH executive board

UST Museum Director and Faculty of Civil Law Regent Rev. fr. Isidro C. Abaño, O.P., SThL-MA was re-elected to the Executive Board of the International Council of Museums Philippines (ICOM-PH), in an announcement posted on March 23, 2022.

UST has long been active in ICOM as an institutional member, and fr. Abaño himself is one of the founding members of the ICOM University Museums and Collections Subcommittee, which was established in 2001. The ICOM-PH is the official representative of ICOM-Paris, which manages the individual and institutional memberships around the world, with the aim to contribute to the advancement of best museum practices.

A seasoned curator who has joined numerous associations and executive bodies, fr. Abaño joins Director and Chief Curator of Ateneo Art Gallery and Director of Visual Arts and Museum Division of the Cultural Center of the Philippines Ms. Victoria Hererra, cultural anthropologist Dr. Nestor Castro, Deputy Director of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Ms. Regina Mercedes Cruz, Ms. Yael Buencamino of Ateneo de Manila University, Head and Administrative Officer V of the National Museum of the Philippines – Bohol Ms. Audrey Dawn Tomada, and President of Asian Institute of Maritime Studies Dr. Arlene Abuid-Paderanga in the executive body.
