Research Center for Culture, Arts, and Humanities (RCCAH) fellow Asst. Prof. Christian V. Esguerra was feted with Gawad Dr. Pio Valenzuela 2019 in the field of reporting last July 11, 2019 at Valenzuela City Hall.
Moreover, Esguerra teaches in the Journalism Program of the Faculty of Arts and Letters. The Gawad Dr. Pio Valenzuela is the highest award given by the City of Valenzuela.
The committee was led by historian Dr. Ambeth Ocampo.
This event was in line with the 150th birth year of Dr. Pio Valenzuela, a FIlipino physician and a revolutionary who joined Andres Bonifacio and Emilio Jacinto in the Katipunan movement.
