Rationale

IGAARP is the relations arms of the UST Faculty of Engineering. The IGAARP seeks to establish meaningful partnerships with the industry, government, and academe sectors and with its Thomasian Engineer Alumni in order to come up with innovations in the delivery of its academic program offerings, leading to better services to its students and more employable future graduates.

Mission

The mission of the IGAARP of the UST Faculty of Engineering may be summed up by its motto: “Partnering for Innovation”.

The IGAARP seeks to establish meaningful partnerships with the industry, government, and academe sectors and with its Thomasian Engineer Alumni in order to come up with innovations in the delivery of its academic program offerings, leading to better services to its students and more employable future graduates.

Vision
Objectives

As approved by the Manpower Committee of the University, the IGAARP shall operate with the following objectives:

3.1 To provide high-quality service to students related to their Industry Immersion/OJT placements in accordance with the requirements of the new curricula of the nine Programs offered by the Faculty of Engineering;

3.2 To promote Faculty Industry Immersion by providing a highly professional service to faculty members related to Industry Immersion, and the maintenance of related linkages with the Industry, which are critical in achieving high level of local accreditation for the Faculty’s Programs

3.3 To establish and maintain communications, in the form of MOAs and/or MOUs, with partner Industries related with the External funding for Scholarships, both for students and faculty members, collaborative research, and income-generating partnerships such as the use of our computer facilities as venue for certification examinations, and our faculty members being hired as consultants in projects relevant to the practice of Engineering and Information and Computer Studies (ICS).

3.4 For the Faculty of Engineering to have constant representation in important meetings with Government research/scholarship funding agencies without sacrificing the quality of instruction delivered to students experienced in the current set-up with IALP; and to promote the various Programs of the Faculty of Engineering in relevant venues;

3.5 To maintain an active database on opportunities for Exchanges with foreign Universities per MOAs established by and through the Office of the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs (OVRAA), and to facilitate the execution of these exchanges for faculty and student participation; and

3.6 To establish a more systematized Recruitment Program of the Faculty’s graduates and to maintain an active record of employment and statistics, as well as the current whereabouts of the Faculty’s graduates, to be coordinated with the local and central Alumni Association Office.
