DCL alumni lend expertise in Bali Forensic Festival 2025

Doctors of Civil Law alumni from the UST Graduate School of Law lent their expertise as distinguished speakers and brought legal depth and humanitarian insights to the international stage in the Bali Forensic Festival 2025, held from Sept. 9-12, 2025.

At the helm, on the one hand, was Dr. Jose Dela Rama, Jr., DCL, who talked about Contemporary Challenges in Human Rights, Philippine Setting. On the other hand, Dr. Josephine G. Gomez, DCL, talked about tax evasion as a human rights violation.

Lastly, Dr. Kristy Jane Balino, DCL, discussed her dissertation on Persons Deprived of Liberty But Not of Health: Advancing the Right to Health in Carceral Settings Through Medical Parole Legislation in the Philippines. Their presence underscored the Philippines’ commitment to regional and global cooperation in advancing forensic science as a tool for truth, justice, and healing.

This festival brought together forensic experts, legal scholars, humanitarian workers, and policy advocates worldwide to explore how forensic science can serve justice and dignity in humanitarian contexts.

The event was part of a growing movement to integrate forensic science with humanitarian principles, ensuring that truth and justice are not just technical goals, but moral imperatives.
