CTHM co-hosts Tourism Knowledge Center Academe Partners’ Research Training Seminar

The University of Santo Tomas College of Tourism and Hospitality Management co-hosted the second day of the 1st Tourism Knowledge Center by Rajah Travel Corporation Academe Partners’ Research Training Seminar 2022. It was held on June 16, 2022 (Thursday) at the Multi-function Room, 8th Floor, of the Buenaventura G. Paredes, O.P. Building and via Zoom.


Asst. Prof. Jeremaiah M. Opiniano, Ph.D., the Assistant Director of the UST Research Center for Social Sciences and Education (RCSSEd), served as speaker during the event. Opiniano shared the significance of research methodologies in answering research questions and addressing research objectives.


The program assisted educational institutions in strengthening and building their research capacity, enhancing collaboration with other organizations, and disseminating research papers and journals. This initiative was envisioned to create a deeper culture of research and encourage the production of more academic research that tackle the issues confronting the tourism industry and allow the formulation of strategic business and policy frameworks. Recognizing that tourism is now a major pillar driving economic growth in our country, increasing knowledge on research and consequently coming up with quality research outputs have become a paramount concern.


The event also saw attendance from other academic institutions such as De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde, Far Eastern University Manila, Lyceum of the Philippines University Manila, and PATTS College of Aeronautics.
