CRS PT students present in the 7th APTSA Congress

Three students from the Department of Physical Therapy of the College of Rehabilitation Sciences represented the country and presented in the 7th Congress of the Asia Physiotherapy Students Association, in cooperation with Indonesia Physiotherapy Students Association, held last August 11-13, 2016 at the Udayana University, Bali, Indonesia. The Congress theme was “The Development of Physiotherapy Treatment Approach in Neurological Rehabilitation”.

Fourth-year BS PT students Angelica Marie Mandario, Eileen Dennise Espiritu, and Micah Frances presented the history of neurological rehabilitation in the Philippines. Apart from the plenary sessions, they were also able to attend workshops on Neuroviscerofacilitation Approach by Rusli & Kes and Upper Limb Rehabilitation Following Stroke by Lennon.   Through small group discussions, Mandario, Espiritu and Tobia were able to share their knowledge and experience in physical therapy practice with other physical therapy students from other Asian countries.

The Congress was attended by student participants from the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, and India. As a penultimate event, all student delegates wore their national costumes for a cultural night.
