CRS accepts exchange students from INTI International University, Malaysia

The College of Rehabilitation Sciences received physical therapy interns from INTI International University of Malaysia for their clinical assignments in Manila, Philippines from July 8, 2016 until August 6, 2016. Daniel Boey, Rachel Paulus, Lenin Tan, Lim Mei Chi, and Ang Kah Hui handled patients and clients with various musculoskeletal, cardiac and neurological conditions at the University of Santo Tomas – Apolinario Mabini Rehabilitation Center (UST –AMRC), Summit Health and Wellness Center, and the Sports Science Gym catering to UST UAAP athletes. To bridge the cultural difference and facilitate the learning experience, the Malaysian INTI interns were supervised by licensed Filipino physical therapists and were partnered with Filipino physical therapy interns of CRS.

The student exchange program is of the implementation of a Memorandum of Agreement signed between UST and INTI, initiated by Prof. Cheryl R. Peralta, DrPH, Dean of CRS, and Prof. Dr. Dato Rahma Mohammed, Vice-Chancellor of INTI, last August 18, 2015. The planning and implementation of the student exchange program was led by Assoc. Prof. Valentin C. Dones III, PhD (Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy of CRS), Assoc. Prof. Sally Jane Uy, MBAH (Coordinator for International Relations and Programs of CRS) and Mrs. Kalavathy Sriraman (Clinical Coordinator of the Physiotherapy Program of INTI).
