CCC launches Career Fair 2019

In partnership with INKOMPASS, the Counseling and Career Center launched its Career Fair 2019 with the theme, “Empowering Thomasians to Map Meaningful and Purposeful Careers” on March 27, 2019, at the Plaza Mayor.

Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Cheryl R. Peralta, DrPH said the University valued its partnership with industries in preparing the students for current and future employment opportunities.

“We are working toward deepening our relationship with industry partners through collaborations, curriculum development, student apprenticeships, faculty immersions and industry, industry experts as adjunct faculty, research and innovation, as well as staff capacity-building for both the academe and industry,” Peralta said.

World Bank Senior Economist in the Social Protection and Labor Global Practice Pablo A. Acosta said employers were eyeing particular skill sets in the aspirants and highlighted the importance of using technology to expand one’s knowledge and skills. “We need to see differently in order to develop skills for future generations and us, as individuals, to take action if we really want to maximize our chances to succeed in the labor market,” Acosta said.

Through various partner companies, Career Fair 2019 provides an avenue of job opportunities for Thomasians students and alumni who want to pursue their passion in their respective fields and to also be a part of the workforce.

The Career Fair 2019 will run until March 29, 2019.
