Assoc. Prof. Arthur P. Casanova, PhD of the Department of Filipino was appointed to a seven-year term as Commissioner of the Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino, replacing now head National Artist Virgilio Almario.
A noted academic, he has written several books and articles, with his children’s books viewed as invaluable contributions to the field of education. He has received awards from institutions such as the Metrobank Foundation, which recognized him in 1999 as one of the Metrobank Outstanding Teachers.
