Conservatory of Music academic staff Asst. Prof. Fidel Gener Calalang, Jr. was conferred the 2025 Award of Excellence by the Filipino American Symphony Orchestra in the “Ode to Summer: Night of Filipino Music” held on August 15, 2025, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles.
The award was given in celebration of Calalang’s exceptional artistry and enduring contributions as a conductor, composer, and educator; it also honored his unwavering dedication as a true mentor to generations of musicians and artists worldwide.
Calalang is the founder and conductor of world-renowned UST Singers.
