CAFA-CFAD alumni stage homecoming exhibit

Melding generations of Thomasian Artists in one group show, the College of Fine Arts and Design (CFAD) staged Grupong Tomasino 2024, a homecoming exhibit bearing the theme “Echo: Sharing the Divine Gift” on February 20, 2024 at the UST Main Building Lobby.

The exhibit was inspired from CFAD’s motto, “The gift you have received, give as a gift. – Matthew 10:8.”

Department of Painting chair Pedro Felix G. Garcia II, MFA explained that the theme celebrates the diversity of artists and their works. Moreover, Garcia said they hold the 43-year-old Grupong Tomasino exhibits to showcase their artworks and to serve as a homecoming event for alumni.

CFAD Dean Asst. Prof. Mary Christie D. Que, MS, LPT vowed to continue holding events similar to this and to continue inviting Thomasian artists to join. “We are one Thomasian Artists, we are on UST,” Dean Que said.

The artists who exhibited their works are both alumni from the defunct College of Architecture and Fine Arts (CAFA) and CFAD.

Echo: Sharing the Divine Gift was organized by the Department of Painting, UST Museum, and the UST Atelier Alumni Association. It will run until February 23, 2024.
