Archdiocese of Nagasaki taps Fr. Coronel as consultant for history of Christianity

Last September 7, 2016 (Wednesday), delegates from the Archdiocese of Nagasaki, Japan visited the University of Santo Tomas and invited Rev. Fr. Louie R. Coronel, O.P., HEL, a professor of Church History, to be the consultant for its book on the 500-year history of Christianity in Nagasaki and its shared history with the Philippines.

The collaboration began when the Archdiocese of Nagasaki wrote to the Prior Provincial, the Very Rev. Fr. Gerard Francisco P. Timoner III, O.P., who then tapped Fr. Coronel.

Fr. Coronel earned his Bachelor’s and Licentiate in Church History from the Gregorian University, Rome. He is concurrently the Editor of the Boletin Eclesiastico de Filipinas, the Associate Editor of the Philippiniana Sacra, Director of the Social Media Bureau, and Parish Priest.
