SUMALINOG, Divine Angela G.

Dr. Sumalinog received her B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering degrees in the University of the Philippines – Diliman, Quezon City in 2010, 2013 and 2018, respectively. She completed her masters and doctorate degree under the scholarship granted by the Department of Science and Technology-Engineering Research and Development for Technology (DOST-ERDT), with her dissertation completed in Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, USA funded by the DOST-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) Sandwich Program. Dr. Sumalinog is a licensed chemical engineer and an active member of the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (PIChE) and the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP). She serves as one of the co-coordinators of the Student Academic Advising and other Services (SAAS) committee of the UST Faculty of Engineering. She has published notable research articles in the field of environmental engineering, particularly on advanced wastewater treatment processes and activated carbon/biochar synthesis and applications. Her research interests include thermochemical conversions of waste biomass, adsorption applications, advanced oxidation processes, and waste-to-energy conversions.
