UST Sentro Turismo conducted Pagsibol Tagkawayan, Quezon

The UST College of Tourism and Hospitality Management, through its UST Sentro Turismo, has successfully turned over the Sustainable Strategic Tourism Development Plan (SSTDP) to the Municipal Government of Tagkayawan, Quezon Province on July 11, 2025 (Friday).

Through this project, the municipality’s tourism growth and development will benefit the community and the environment, thus leading to economic growth. It will provide them with a holistic plan approach and a road map for the next ten (10) years. 

The research team comprises Prof. Gezzez Giezi G. Granado, DCL, CHE, Project Director, and Asst. Prof. Jame Monren T. Mercado, MACHS, CGSP, and Mr. John Jerick C. Santos, MLdrshpOrgLrng, CGSP, Project Coordinators, and the researchers/writers, Mr. Alec P. Bagcus, MSTDM, CGSP and Ms. Ma. Alyana Loraine A. Duro, LPT, MSHM, CGSP.


The Tagkawayanin also expressed their Pledge of Commitment to ensure that their whole community will implement the plan. This significant move, led by their Municipal Mayor, Hon. Luis Oscar T. Eleazar,  Ms. Anna Louella U. Villanueva, Senior Tourism Operations Officer, the Sangguniang Bayan, and the Tagkawayanin Tourism and Hospitality Stakeholders, is a strong testament to how the academe and the local government unit can have a sustainable relationship and partnership.
