On July 16, 2025, the UST Senior High School (UST SHS) will host the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) entitled “Faith That Fights Back: A Three-Part Catholic Wake-Up Call featuring Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers of EWTN, at the Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati Auditorium, 21/F.
The event seeks to address the pressing cultural and spiritual challenges confronting the Catholic faithful today. Thus, the one-day event, packed with three meaningful sessions, will empower the Thomasian faithful with reinforced Catholic identity, clarity, courage, and renewed commitment to Christ and His Church.
The session will begin with “Truth Under Fire: How to Stay Catholic in a World Gone Woke”, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. This segment invites students, teachers, and parents to stay strong and rooted amidst external pressures.
It will be followed by “Unbreakable: Family, Faith, and the Fight for the Next Generation”, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. The talk will zero in on protecting family members and how to keep the faith alive at home.
Lastly, “Alive in Christ: The Power of Sacraments to Heal Our Broken World” will be conducted from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., delving into the healing power of the Eucharist and Reconciliation.
A preacher with the moniker “Dynamic Deacon”, Burke-Sivers is a passionate evangelist and preacher of EWTN whose straightforward approach to living and proclaiming the Catholic faith has instilled the faithful with inspiration and courage amidst challenges.
He travels across the United States and worldwide speaking at conferences, workshops, retreats, parish missions, high schools, and young adult events – in short, to everyone who desires to know Jesus intimately and enjoy a deeper personal relationship with Him.
His expertise includes marriage and family life, discerning God’s will, the sacraments, male spirituality, evangelization, prayer, and many others.
