UH Hilo and UST co-organize International Conference for Multidisciplinary Filipino Studies (ICMFS) 2025

The University of Hawai’i at Hilo and the University of Santo Tomas College of Education, Manila, Philippines are co-organizing the 4th International Conference on Multidisciplinary Filipino Studies (ICMFS) to be held on 25-27 September 2025 at the Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, OP Auditorium, UST, España, Manila.


With the theme, “Filipino for Sustainable Development” (Filipino para sa Sostenibleng Pag-
unlad), the conference aims to (1) foster collaboration and scholarly exchange among the local,
regional, and international scholars, practitioners, students, policymakers, researchers, and
other stakeholders of Filipino and Philippine Studies; (2) provide a platform for a meaningful
dialogue and deeper understanding of the major issues, events, and other processes related to
the Filipinos; and (3) establish a legacy of scholarship on the Filipinos in the Philippines and the
diaspora.

The event is part of the 100th Founding Anniversary of the College with the theme, “From
