Advertising alumna’s artwork graces cover of Art of Aqualumina

Thomasian alumna and illustrator Justine Denise M. Lerma’s three artworks made it to the pages of The Art of Aqualumina, an art book. Her illustration “Nishikigoi” has been selected to grace the cover of this international publication, which features selected works from over 300 artists worldwide collected over a two-year period by Kickstarter, a funding platform for creative projects.

All threaded by a common theme, water, the art works were exhibited at Gallery Nucleus in Los Angeles, California from June 25 to 28, 2016. Water is known to be the common bond that unites all living things on the most atomic level and the art works created were practically celebrations and explorations of the different facades of the building block that jump-started life as we know it. Part of the proceeds will go to Water.org, an international non-profit organization founded by Gary White and Matt Damon, which has been pioneering innovative, sustainable solutions to the global water crisis for 25 years.

Lerma graduated cum laude from the College of Fine Arts and Design in 2009, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Advertising Arts. Her illustrations have graced numerous publications and outfits here and abroad.
