100-year legacy showcased in UST College of Science pre-centennial anniversary exhibit

As the College of Science approaches its 100-year founding anniversary in 2026,  a historical exhibit was opened last March 5 to 31, 2025, at the UST Main Building Lobby and UST Museum.

The exhibit titled, “100 Years of Expressing Faith through Excellence in Science: The UST College of Science History Exhibit,” is a celebration of a century of dedication to the pursuit of truth and service. The exhibit showcased the rich history of the College, from its beginnings as the College of Liberal Arts, to its current status as a distinguished and internationally recognized center of learning as the College of Science.

The exhibit featured the evolution of the College’s academic programs, complemented by a showcase of historical learning equipment. Attendees were able to track groundbreaking research conducted by its faculty and students and discover the inspiring stories of alumni who made significant contributions to the scientific community. The exhibit also underscored the college’s rich culture of research and scholarship, guided by ethical standards and international benchmarks.

The exhibit highlighted the five pillars of the College’s agenda – AGHAM: Academic Excellence, God-centered Education, Harmonious and State-of-the-Art Learning Environment, Alumni Involvement and Community Engagement, and Multi-disciplinary and Collaborative Research — demonstrating how these principles have shaped the College’s identity and drove its success throughout the years. The exhibit also served as an opportunity for the college to celebrate the legacy of its patron saint, St. Albert the Great.
Overall, this event embodied the tagline of the College of Science, “Galíng Science, Gáling Science” (Excellence of Science, From Science) living up to its mission of integral formation, producing ethical, competent, and morally upright individuals for the past 100 years.
