Tourism Management students reap awards in travel vlog, tourism research, tourism devt contests

The University of Santo Tomas College of Tourism and Hospitality Management’s BS Tourism Management students bagged one championship and two first runner-up plums in various competitions held during the University of the Philippines Alumni Association Youth for Tourism and Hospitality Conference on November 8, 2025, at Far Eastern University Manila.

Travel Vlog Competition – Champion (Three-Peat)

The team of Kian Nil Adrienne Roxas, Jerssy T. Cruz, Reena Adriana V. Villariba, Luiza O. Odoño, and Kenneth Andrei Benito earned the University’s third consecutive championship in the Travel Vlog Competition. Under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Fredeswindo R. Medina, Asst. Prof. Maria Concepcion A. Ang, and Inst. Alec P. Bagcus, the team demonstrated strong skills in digital storytelling and video production as they featured the sustainable tourism initiatives of the Municipality of Maragondon, Cavite.

Tourism Research Presentation – First Runner-Up

BS Tourism Management alumni Ronwane Miykael A. Caidic, Angelica Ruby S. Calangi, Kirsten Jewel M. Chan, Pamela Bianca De Ocampo, and Nicole Ann Marie Torred placed second in the Tourism Research Presentation. Their coaches, Asst. Prof. Maria Concepcion A. Ang, Asst. Prof. Jame Monren T. Mercado, and Asst. Prof. Dennis D. Lemsic, guided the team in developing research that addresses current tourism challenges at Lake Sebu, South Cotabato.

Tourism Product Development – First Runner-Up

The team of Anya Agatha Zoleta, Cyrus John Bayonito, Biala L. Cueto, Keziah Fritz G. Lazaraga, and Yassy Kane G. Lazaraga secured second place in the Tourism Product Development category. Mentored by Asst. Prof. Dennis D. Lemsic, Inst. John Jerick C. Santos, and Inst. Arnulfo Ricardo A. Butiong, the team, presented a multi-level community-based eco-tourism product for the Province of Apayao.

Tourism Start-Up Competition

Vincent Joshua Abundo, Alysandra Vienne Vergara, Noela Lorraine Alvarez, Diego Alfonso Milca, and Keisha Nicole Bagtas represented UST CTHM in the Tourism Start-Up Competition. Their business concept addresses pain points for travel agents, travelers, and tour guides. The team was coached by Asst. Prof. Dennis D. Lemsic, Inst. Trisha Joy A. Attolba, Inst. Anthony Espera, and Mr. Gerby Estrella.

Tourism Marketing Campaign Competition

Jenzel A. Singian, Ana Maria Martha M. Baylon, Pamela Bridgid Lim, Trisha Mari M. Casas, and Bettina Nicole P. Gutierrez competed in the Tourism Marketing Campaign Competition, showcasing true digital marketing strategies that utilize AI tools for the Province of Apayao, under the guidance of Inst. Wyett White T. Lee, Asst. Prof. Aristotle C. Chico, and Inst. Arnulfo Ricardo A. Butiong.
