The Metrobank Foundation, on the occasion of its 40th anniversary, feted the University of Santo Tomas and the Department of Teacher Education‘s Prof. Allan B. de Guzman, PhD with recognitions for efforts in sustaining excellence in the field of education.
UST was conferred the Partner in Empowerment, Advocacy, and Commitment to Excellence (PEACE) Award, which recognizes partner institutions whose commitment to uplift the lives of the least in society and recognizing the best in society mirror that of the Foundation’s. Recipients of the PEACE Award hail from the academe, media, non-government institutions, diplomatic missions, and national government agencies.
Meanwhile, de Guzman, former Dean of the College of Education and 2011 Metrobank Outstanding Teacher Awardee, received the Award for Continuing Excellence and Service (ACES), “an award for the past awardees of the Foundation’s various recognition programs who, after being recognized for their excellence, continue to make substantive contributions to their chosen disciplines. Embodying a lifelong commitment to the pursuit of service excellence, the awardees have bequeathed a legacy of impactful accomplishments to their peers and the communities they serve.”
