The Thomasian Alumni Leaders Association (TALA) signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Office of Alumni Relations and Office for Student Affairs for the Thomasian Global Trade last May 25, 2017 at the Office of Alumni Association, Inc. Conference Room, 3/F Buenaventura G. Paredes, OP, Building.
TGEP 2017 will be 3-day business fair which will feature Thomasian alumni’s significant contributions in national and in global development of economy. The business fair will also provide opportunities for the small-time business up to high-tier industries. But most importantly, it will extend a helping hand and forge ties between the students and alumni who are eyeing a career in entrepreneurship–the fair’s highest goal.
According to TALA Executive Director Evelyn A. Songco, PhD, the alumni, student leaders in particular, giving back to the University lead to the conception TALA to continue their commitment of service. “The student leaders from the early ’90s, even as early as in the ’80s and also up to [Batch] 2015, are now linked to the network of Thomasian alumni,” Songco said. “Even those who are outside the country are connected with us.”
“We want to show everybody what UST has and is capable of doing as far as the business facilities and trade is concerned. We would want to alumni to get together and to help next generation students,” TALA President Dr. Rylan Flores said.
“This activity will help the alumni to return to UST,” OAR Director Asst. Prof. Cherry Tanodra said.
TGEP started in 2010 as the alumni’s contribution to the University during its Quadricentennial year.
