UST-AMV College of Accountancy

History

Established on November 10, 2004 by the University of Santo Tomas, upon recommendation of and in coordination with the UST College of Commerce Alumni Foundation, Inc. (COCAFI), the UST Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy is the first degree-granting unit of the University named after a private individual, an unprecedented event in the 394-year history of the oldest university in the Philippines.

Vision

The UST Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy envisions itself as the premier institution in accountancy education and research in the Asia Pacific Rim, producing world class professionals who are imbued with the Thomistic values, and equipped with knowledge and competence that will enable them to compete successfully in the global arena.

Mission

To produce world class Thomasian professional accountants, the UST Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy commits to:

  • Provide the students quality education in an environment where Thomistic values are taught, learned and lived;
  • Provide them learning experience that promotes the values and institution of democracy, prepare them to lead lives of personal integrity and civic responsibility in a global society, develop in them the knowledge, skills and ethics consistent with sound business principles and best practices and compatible with responsible social and professional behavior;

Dedicate our resources to teaching, research and community service.
