BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS

Born 1971; appointed Professor 2 in 2008;  awarded Outstanding Young Scientist in Molecular Biology/Immunology by the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST)-Philippines in 2005; winner of NAST-Dupont Talent Search in 2004; awarded the 2008 Gawad San Alberto Magno (Best Researcher)in 2008, finalist in the Wall Street Journal - Hewlett Packard Young Inventors Award in 2005.  Author of Exploring Life Through Science: Biology textbook, laboratory manual and teacher’s guide.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Molecular immunology/allergology diagnostics and therapeutics including gene cloning, expression, and characterization of allergens and single nucleotide polymorphism studies on allergy candidate genes for the development of markers and reagents for diagnosis and immunotherapy of allergies.
