THE CENTER FOR CREATIVE WRITING AND STUDIES IS TASKED with the promotion of creative writing and literature studies in the university. Based in the Faculty of Arts and Letters, it draws to itself established writers, most of whom were bred in the university, and nurtures and trains potential writers and literary scholars.

The Center engages in creative writing workshops and cultural activities within the purview of the creative arts. It conducts literary fora and publishes TOMAS, a literary journal.
