Seminar-Workshop on Effective Teaching for Engineering Educators

The University of Santo Tomas Graduate School through its Center for Continuing Professional Education & Development (CCPED) has re-scheduled the conduct of the Seminar-Workshop on Effective Teaching for Engineering Educators on February 5 & 6, 2010, 8:00am – 5:00pm at the Tanghalang Teresita Quirino, UST Graduate School, España Boulevard, City of Manila. This course is designed to help engineering educators meet the challenges of teaching in a fast-changing academic environment by providing them strategies and tools for improving the performance of their students. In particular, this course will cover lectures and workshops on matching teaching styles with learning styles of students; the preparation of outcomes based course outlines; active and collaborative learning methods; appropriate use of information technology in teaching; development of fair methods for the assessment of student performance; and other management and ethical issues related to teaching.

The target participants of this course are Engineering Educators including teaching staff and faculty, program heads/ chairs/ coordinator/ supervisors, and deans/ academic heads of organizations who aim to enhance the quality of teaching of their faculty and performance of students. This is also open to doctorate and masteral graduate students in engineering education.
