The UST Museum invites the Thomasian community and art enthusiasts to the book launch of “Romualdo Locatelli: An Artistic Voyage from Rome, the Eternal City to Bali, the Island of the Gods” on January 23, 2020, 3 p.m., at the UST Museum – Main Gallery.

The Locatelli painting entitled “Portrait of a Young Balinese Girl”, which is one of the prized collections in the Museum, is featured in the book and will be on display during the book launch.

Romualdo Locatelli: An Artistic Voyage from Rome, the Eternal City to Bali, the Island of the Gods (edited by Vittorio Sgarbi) was published by the Associazione Culturale Amici dei Locatelli, Figli d’Arte in September 2019.

Signora Daniela Locatelli, niece of the artist, will grace the book launch.

Locatelli is one of the leading painters under the Orientalist genre, Mooi Indie. He became the most sought portraitist under the royal and papal patronage, and reached the peak of his art production in Bali, Indonesia.
