Bachelor of Special Needs Education, major in Early Childhood Education (4 years)

Description 

Bachelor of Special Needs Education (BSNEd) with specialization in Early Childhood Education is a four-year program that prepares students for the art and science of teaching children with special needs in the early years (birth through eight years old). It provides a solid foundation on developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood special needs intervention and education. The program culminates with an extensive teaching internship in various cooperating schools and institutions, both public and private, local and international, under the mentorship of highly experienced professional teachers.

Program Intended Learning Outcomes
  1. Articulate the rootedness of education in philosophical, sociocultural, historical, psychological, and political contexts in order to create safe, inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments for students with diverse needs
  2. Demonstrate high levels of content and pedagogical knowledge and skills for the effective delivery of teaching-learning processes     
  3. Create innovative and adaptive curricula for students with diverse needs, to provide meaningful learning experiences and collaborative opportunities for all students and the community
  4. Use evidence-based instructional strategies and technology to accommodate and maximize learning opportunities for students with additional needs     
  5. Manifest critical and      reflective thinking and problem-solving skills in planning, monitoring, assessing, and reporting learning processes and outcomes specific to special needs learners     
  6. Pursue lifelong learning for personal and professional growth through varied experiential and field-based opportunities, and research reciprocity
