From July 25-27, 2019, Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physical Therapy (PT) faculty members and alumni of the College of Rehabilitation Sciences provided therapy, caregiver education and teacher training to the special education community of Oton Central Elementary School. Special learners of the school received initial OT assessment and initial and follow-up PT assessment with home programs. Parents and caregivers were given orientation and training as well on how to implement occupational therapy interventions at home. Special education and regular education teachers of the same school also received skills training on occupational therapy interventions.
These were given to enhance the care and education they provide to their wards. UST-CRS thanks Marian Rose Foundation, Life is Great Foundation, and Oton Central Elementary School, through Dr. Perpetuo Gutierez III, a faculty member of the College for this opportunity.
