With its aim to strengthen its industry-academe linkages and provide high quality training related to travel services and operations, the UST – College of Tourism and Hospitality Management partnered with PTC Mil-Com for its Faculty Immersion program.
Administrators and faculty members attended a one-day seminar-workshop entitled “Flight Attendant for a Day” last October 11, 2018 at the PTC Mil-Com Aviation Training Center Inc., Paranaque City, Metro Manila. It included basic first aid training and mock-up cabin activities during a flight simulation. Evacuation procedures with simple commands during emergency situations were also taught while equipment on board the aircraft were also identified. The attendees also had experiential learning on inflight safety demonstration, opening and closing of cabin doors and emergency exits, food and beverage service, and slide drills.
The PTC Mil-Com instructors, composed of former flight attendants with decades of experience in the aviation industry, shared their know-how and best practices throughout their years of flying and even entertained questions from the faculty.
PTC Mil – Com is the first aviation training center in the Philippines to use a full Airbus A320 Cabin Mock Up, used by major airlines around the world to train their flight attendants or cabin crew. It offers various courses including aircraft maintenance, flight attendant/cabin crew training, and flight dispatch. It is also committed in producing highly skilled and competent aviation professionals who are well-trained in accordance with international standards to ensure safety, security, and quality service within the industry.
